A fire on Deer Run Lane resulted in the total loss of a home Saturday, first responders reported.
Dan Pempel with Randolph Volunteer Fire Department said firefighters received report of a structure fire at 12:17 p.m. Saturday on 55 Deer Run Lane.
Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Bradley Ingle said the homeowners were away at the time of the fire. “Upon arrival, the house was fully engulfed and the woods next to the house were on fire,” Ingle said.
Pempel said smoke had reportedly been on the horizon. Ingle said Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department and Cartersville Volunteer Fire Department were also dispatched.
“The first unit on scene reporter house was fully involved and the brush was on fire, endangering another house,” Pempel said.
“Two fire lines were put on the house and another engine extinguished the brush fire,” Pempel said. “A water shuttle was setup for a water supply, but the house was a total loss on arrival.”
Ingle said the Red Cross has been notified for the homeowners.
