Trio of regional champs

During the first day of competition at the Region 2A indoor track and field championships in Richmond, Prince Edward County High School’s program produced three individual regional titles, two of which were earned by Makayla Morris.
Morris won the girls long jump with a 16-foot-3-inch leap, and she was victorious in the girls high jump with a 5-foot leap.
Jalil Robinson also became a regional champion, winning the boys long jump with 20-foot-8-inch result.
Placing second was Salma Muhammad in the girls long jump with a 15-foot-9-inch jump and Abdul Johnson in the boys long jump. Johnson tied for second with a 20-foot-6-inch leap.
Khalil Smith placed fourth in the boys long jump with a 19-foot-8-inch jump, and Aneal Walker took fifth with a 19-foot-4-inch result.
Mia Seay jumped 15 feet 5 inches in the girls long jump to place fifth.
Muhammad took sixth in the girls high jump, leaping 4 feet 2 inches.
