Pancake supper set for Saturday

The rain is great and we are in need of rain, but it sure is hard on those who have to get out in it to feed the animals. Remember when complaining about the rain this could be snow or it could just be very dry.

The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will have a Pancake Supper on Saturday starting at 5 p.m. Supper will be pancakes, sausage, bacon, apples and a drink. Come out meet your friends and support the Fire Department.

Last Monday Mrs. Norma Hertzler and Mrs. Pat Smith enjoyed having lunch together at Ruby Tuesday’s.

On Feb. 3, Mrs. Flora Bolt welcomed visitors from Sanford North Carolina; her niece Mrs. Sandra Woodson Weldon her daughter and granddaughter Whitney Adkins and Lily Atkins. They were in the area visiting their father, grandfather and great-grandfather Garland Woodson.

On Feb. 5, Don and Betty Meadows, George and Shirley Moore and Richard and Margaret Stockton met at Merk’s Place for breakfast and fellowship.

The Prospect Happy Hats met at Miller’s Country Store on Feb. 6. Pat Smith was hostess with plans for lunch at Miller’s followed by the Elephant Exchange in the Calvary Chapel-Farmville. Those joining Pat were: Hilda Allen, Lois Johnson, Margaret Stockton, Rita Rountree, Betty Sumner, Dolly Worthy, Jean Hensley, Betty Meadows and Carol Schall. What a fun time.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, following church Steve Bolt, Mrs. Flora Bolt, Haley and Paydon Murdock enjoyed lunch together at Bojangles.

Nancy Dickerson met Margaret and Richard Stockton, Fred Floyd and Jo Smith for lunch on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Golden Palace. They did a great deal of catching up on things that had happened in the last month.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Fred Floyd, Phyllis Fulcher, Shirley Fulcher, Frances Southall, Randy Martin and Betty Jean Bolt.

The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday; the Rev. Buddy Woodson will be the guest minister Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Remnant Church invites you to worship with them on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third St. in Farmville in the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.
