Inclement weather closings update

Schools across the Heart of Virginia are seeing closings due to inclement weather. Prince Edward County Public Schools, Buckingham County Public Schools, Cumberland County Public Schools and Fuqua School are all closed Wednesday.

Longwood University will also be closed Wednesday.  According to a press release amended hours for on-campus facilities are:
-Dorrill Dining Hall: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
-Student Union: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
-Health & Fitness Center: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
-Greenwood Library: closing today (1/16) at 10 p.m., open tomorrow (1/17) from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
The Farmville Area Bus will not operate tomorrow. The add/drop deadline for classes starting 1/17 will be extended by one day. Login to my.longwood.edu for updated dates. Those traveling to campus tomorrow are asked to park in the parking garage (entrance off Main Street) so facilities staff can clear parking lots.

The Moton Museum is closed Wednesday.

Piedmont Senior Resources’ friendship cafes in Nottoway and Prince Edward counties, along with home delivered meal routes in Nottoway, are closed and cancelled Wednesday due to the forecasted inclement weather.

Hampden-Sydney College Athletics is reporting on its website that due to snowfall in Virginia, the Tigers’ basketball game at Randolph-Macon College has been postponed to Thursday at 7 p.m.

Farmville and Buckingham libraries closed Wednesday, Jan. 17.
