The November meeting of the Third Thursday Book Club was hosted by Betty Jenkins at The Inn on the Avenues. The speaker for this meeting was Martha Pennington Louis, of Buckingham County, and the author of the book, “Dr. Bill and Dr. Margaret — A Love Story.” Her book tells the story of her parents, Dr. Bill Pennington and Dr. Margaret Pennington, who came to Buckingham County after World War II and served the county as medical doctors but also had other goals and dreams. Her mother was an artist and taught painting classes and also was an author. Her father was a hunter and began The Virginia Wildlife Federation.
