Knights go 1-1 at Goochland holiday invitational

Buckingham County High School’s varsity boys basketball team rebounded from its Dec. 21 loss in the Goochland Holiday Invitational by defeating King William High School 64-51 on Friday.
Knights sophomore forward Jalen Chambers led all scorers with 24 points, a strong follow-up to his 29-point effort the night before.
Also contributing to Buckingham’s Friday win was senior guard Jayvon Chambers and freshman guard Amari Toney, who added nine points apiece. Freshman forward Gerry Toney grabbed 10 rebounds.
Jalen Chambers and Amari Toney were voted to the All-Tournament Team.
The Knights head into the holiday break with a 3-3 overall record. They return to action Wednesday, Jan. 3, when they host Cumberland County High School at 7 p.m.
