Fuqua School’s fourth and fifth grade students went on a field trip to The Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum outside of Washington D.C. They had guided tours for the first hour and for the rest of the time were allowed to explore on our own. According to a press release, there were many exhibits, including the Blackbird, the fastest plane ever built. “It is a flat, triangular shaped black plane,” officials said in the release. “They also saw Neil Armstrong’s helmet and gloves. (Armstrong) had written his instructions for if something went wrong on his left glove.”
