Second Amendment rights

Editor:

Many people who advocate for Second Amendment rights have never read the Second Amendment, and are surprised, to say the least that it does not begin with, “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” It actually states: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Think about that. A well regulated Militia. We would very, very likely reduce the frequency and severity of gun violence with a national gun registry, which I support.
