Ronald Earl Bowles Jr.

Ronald Earl Bowles, Jr., age 86, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at his residence in Farmville.
Mr. Bowles was the son of the late Ronald Bowles, Sr. and Lelia Gallier Bowles of Five Forks.
He attended school at Darlington Heights, Worsham, Farmville High School, and graduated from Fork Union Military Academy.
Ronald served his country by enlisting in the U. S. Army Air Corps at the age of 15.
A lifelong resident of Prince Edward County, Mr. Bowles worked as a real estate agent and broker for over 50 years. He was a member of both the Virginia and National Association of Realtors, and served as past president of the Southside Association of Realtors.
Mr. Bowles was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth S. Bowles and a daughter, Christy Bowles Dowd. He was also preceded by two younger brothers, Weldon and Raymond Bowles.
He is survived by two sons, David L. Bowles (Lori) of Carpinteria, California and Phillip C. Bowles of Hanover, Va.; grandsons, Ryan and Phillip Dowd of North Carolina and Dalton Bowles of California; granddaughters, Jessica and Caitlynn Bowles of Hanover, Va.; great grandsons, Brayden and Carson Bowles of Hanover and Fynley and Bryer Dowd of North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews throughout the state.
Services are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m., at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Darlington Heights, with interment to follow at the church cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour immediately prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Spring Creek Baptist Church or Darlington Heights Volunteer Fire Department.
