Courtney Francis Howe Kelly of Staunton, VA passed away of natural causes at his home on Nov. 18, 2017 at age 53. He was the son of Mrs. Dorothy Burns-Kelly and the late CDR William Francis Kelly USN (Ret). He was born in Annapolis, MD on Sept. 3, 1964.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Burns- Kelly of Winston-Salem, NC; his sister, Mrs. Corydon Glenny Brewer (Peter) of Greensboro NC; his brother, Mr. Patrick Pembroke Kelly (Linda) of St. Paul MN; his sister, Mrs. Mary Seward Claybourn of Clemmons NC; and his step mother, Mrs. Rebecca Kelly of Farmville VA. He is also survived by his maternal aunt Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Merrick (Bentley) of Essex Junction VT and numerous cousins.

“Puds” (as his family fondly knew him) was a 1983 graduate of Prince Edward Academy and held a great interest in nature, music, and poetry.

His remains will be cremated, after which a memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, VA in the spring of 2018.
