Longwood University’s women’s soccer team has just completed a breakout regular season and is looking to extend an eight-game unbeaten streak as it hosts the quarterfinal round of the 2017 Big South Championship at the Longwood Athletics Complex Friday at 7 p.m. The Lancers went 11-4-3 during the regular season and finished third in the Big South, holding a 6-1-2 conference record. Longwood, which holds the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, is looking to advance to the semifinals for the second straight year but must first get past No. 6 seed Charleston Southern on Friday. “We’re excited to have another chance to play at home in front of our community and our fans,” said Longwood head coach Todd Dyer.
