The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department thanks you for your support of its 57th annual Harvest Sale on Saturday. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The weekend of Sept. 28, Laurie and Kevin Justus, visited her mother Mrs. Hilda Allen. They also visited their son Jacob Justus a freshman at Hampden-Sydney College, for Parents Weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith had an enjoyable trip to the Pocono Mountains last weekend. On their way to the mountains, they stopped in Fredrick, Maryland, to have lunch with Pat’s cousin, Jessica Ludwig-Williamson, her husband, Paul, and their children, Ian and Lana.

Betty Sumner attended the birthday party in Richmond on Sept. 30 for two great-grandchildren, Tucker Burgess and his sister, Eliza Jane Burgess. Tucker is 4 years old and his sister is 2 years old.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Sean Stockton, Lon Stockton, Carol Schall, Frances P. Motley, of Hampton, and Betty Jean Bolt.

Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church members will celebrate their homecoming Sunday at 11 a.m. Come and celebrate with them. The United Methodist Men’s Stew and Fall Festival will be on Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday. The Rev. Buddy Woodson will fill the pulpit on Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road in the former Stackpole-Carbone building. The Remnant Church invites you to worship with them Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.; Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third St. in Farmville at the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.
