Southall-Woodson reunion is Saturday

Last week the Rev. Buddy Woodson brought the message to the members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle. Following the service, the Bolt family met with Judy Bolt for lunch and to celebrate Jennifer Bolt Jones’ birthday. Chris Bolt grilled steaks and chicken with everyone bringing a side dish followed by Jennifer opening many beautiful and useful gifts.

The Southall-Woodson family reunion will be held Saturday starting at noon at the Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Norma Hertzler and Mrs. Pat Smith met for breakfast at Merk’s last Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Mrs. Brenda Walton, of Powhatan, and Mrs. Pat Smith enjoyed meeting for breakfast at the Cumberland Restaurant.

Pat Hannah was visited by Tammy Miller and Lydia Counts on Friday, Sept. 1. After visiting, they went shopping and then had dinner. It was a good day.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey has enjoyed visits from family and friends.

On Saturday, Mrs. Pat Hannah and Carolyn Dholson went to Richmond to visit Linda Smith, after which they had lunch at Shoney’s.

Mrs. Betty Noblin has returned home following a visit from Monday to Thursday with her grandchildren in Chesapeake. Their parents were attending meetings getting ready for the opening of schools.

Mrs. Frances Ollie met with Mrs. Flora Bolt for lunch on Thursday at Merk’s Place.

On Sunday, Joshua Bolt celebrated his 16th birthday party at Grove Street Park. His birthday was Aug. 31.

It is good to report the Rev. Evelyn Penn has returned home following back surgery.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Betty Meadows, Dennis Merkle Sr., the Rev. Wayne Moore, Frances P. Motley and Betty Jean Bolt.

The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday. The Rev. Amanda Bowman will fill the pulpit Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.

The Remnant Church invites you to worship with them on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. The pastor is Jeff Spencer. The church is located at 1825 E. Third St. in Farmville at the old Cedar Brook Restaurant building.
