Viola King Roberts

Viola King Roberts, 84, of Chesterfield, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, July 24, 2017.  Born in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late John and Sallie Booth King; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman “Shorty” Thomas Roberts; a son, Dexter Roberts; and a grandson, Richard Roberts. 

She is survived by her five children, Dale Law and husband, Robert, Joyce Wade, Joseph Roberts, Tony Roberts and wife, Sherry and Tammy Roberts; eight grandchildren, Toy Newcomb and husband, Brad, Jennifer Sobrito and husband, Andrew, Wayne Roberts and wife, Melanie, Joshua Roberts and wife, Heather, Sierra Coles and husband, Glen, Michael Roberts and wife, Jessica, Tommy Roberts and Sallie Prevette; several great-grandchildren, one brother, Luther King and wife, Margaret; three sisters, Josephine Belcher and husband, Collin, Fannie Newcomb and husband, Harvey and Miranda Dunn and husband, Kenneth; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Grace Harvest Baptist Church in Amelia, with the Rev. Mark Wells, officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.
