Peca responds to ‘the false narratives’

I am amazed by the naivety of Lucy Klaus on how the real world works in her letter “Perpetuating the False Narratives.”

For one, “Make America Great Again” is a political slogan, not a policy statement.  It’s part of Donald Trump’s con job on the country.

Unfortunately for Klaus, the evidence of collusion just came to light by Donald Trump Jr.’s emails and subsequent meeting where he was accompanied by Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner with a known Russian agent for the purposes of obtaining damaging information on Hilary Clinton.

Klaus has the naïve notion that the FSB (successor to the KGB of which Vladimir Putin is its former chief) only spies on government officials.

While she is correct that Putin couldn’t know of Trump’s presidential ambitions in 2013, Trump is a high-profile celebrity who might be of use to Russia under the right circumstances.

She should read “The Plot to Hack America” by Malcolm Nance to get an in-depth explanation.

Klaus is correct that journalists were not mentioned during the Bill O’Reilly interview. My bad. Unfortunately, neither she in her letter nor Trump in his interview expressed any outrage over Putin’s habit of violating the civil rights of non-journalists, including murder.

What bargaining chips? The sanctions imposed on Russia were made during President Barack Obama’s administration and included the Magnitsky Act named after Sergei Magnitsky who died in a Russian prison because he investigated tax fraud by Putin allies.

The act is designed to punish Putin for civil rights violations. Trump has no interest in further sanctions and would like them all removed.

Trump already wants to give Putin everything he wants.

After the G20 meeting or more accurately the G19+1 fiasco, Trump has little credibility with our allies.

He refused to lead, and now Angela Merkel has become the de facto leader of the free world.

Klaus also shows her naivety regarding financial matters. Why would Trump seek foreign loans if he could get them from domestic lenders? Because he can’t. U.S. banks have refused to lend to Trump because he has shown himself a poor credit risk.

It wasn’t the legality of the Deutche Bank loan I questioned but the source of the money.

Klaus also trots out the usual irrelevant right-wing talking points (Benghazi, ISIS, uranium, Iran and apologies ad nauseum).  Rather than correcting her, I direct her to www.politifact.org and www.factcheck.org to check out the real stories.  By the way, if President Obama had said “radical Islamic terrorism” three times and clicked his heels, how many lives would that have saved?

Trump is a narcissist and a pathological liar. Either he loves Putin or Putin has something on Trump.

I patiently await the results of the Mueller investigation. I’m afraid Klaus will probably be very disappointed with the outcome.
