A fire at 390 Mottley Mill Road destroyed a residence Sunday, according to Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Brad Ingle. “At this time, we’re unsure of what actually happened, it just started up near the attic, that’s all that we know,” Ingle said. Volunteers were dispatched at approximately 4:26 p.m. to the blaze. Ingle said he’s unsure of how many were displaced from the home but that Red Cross is currently working with the home’s residents. Ingle said other departments that responded include Cartersville Volunteer Fire Department, Randolph Volunteer Fire Department, Macon District Fire Department and Deep Creek Fire Department.
