Woman’s Club holds May luncheon

Members of the Woman’s Club Buckingham County General Federation of Woman’s Club (GFWC) held its annual May Luncheon at the Maysville Presbyterian Church on May 18. President Mary Lohr welcomed guest Gwen Hamlett, the Alice Kyle District President. Second Vice President Sharon Andrews thanked Audrey Llewellyn, Charlene Snoddy and Barbara White for their 63 years of service to the club. Past Presidents also serving are Agnes Cramer, Zanie Jamerson, Jackie Fairbarns and Mary Lohr. Education Chairman Patsy Miessler announced that a $500 scholarship was presented to Alexis Crews. Fairbarns and Cramer attended the GFWC State Meeting in Roanoke recently and announced that the club received the following awards for the arts: first place winner, blue ribbon, Sharon Andrews; second place winners, red ribbons, Marie Flowers, Page Moran and Julie Shield; and third place, yellow ribbons, Mary Lohr, Page Moran and Julie Shield.
