Neighborhood Watch picnic is Saturday

The Randolph District Fire Department will hold its barbecue chicken dinner June 9 from 4:30-7 p.m. The menu will consist of barbecue chicken, Cole slaw, dessert, coffee and tea all for a donation at the door.

The Tuggle Neighborhood Watch picnic will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Church, 1913 Tuggle Road. All neighbors are welcome to come. Someone from the sheriff’s department will be present to listen to concerns.

Lois Southall was treated at Fridays Restaurant for Mother’s Day. Those present were her son, Robbie McPherson, wife Barbara; Kathy Bailey; granddaughter Ricka Smith and Gene Southall.

Richard and Margaret Stockton have returned home from Williamsburg where they attended the Eastern Star convention Monday through Wednesday. This was very enjoyable. They were able to visit with a dear friend, Gail Thompson from Washington State. Joining them at the convention on Wednesday was George and Shirley Moore and Carolyn Dove.

Last Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith spent the night at the Berry Hill Resort in South Boston, celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary.

Richard and Margaret Stockton joined the belated birthday celebration of their daughter in-law, Mary Jo Stockton, on Saturday at the Bonefish Grill in Richmond. Joining them were Lon Stockton and Sean Stockton.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Brandon Phelps, Peggy Kelsey, Frances Southall, Charles Southall Sr., Betsy Faraci, Gary Fiscus, Jean P. Derrenbacker, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be the guest speaker this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Willie Thompson will bring the message Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
