Hugh Earl Allen was born April 10, 1922, in Farmville, and went to his eternal heavenly home on June 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessica Wilkerson Allen.

He is survived by his children Robert (Donna), Doug (Gail), Judy (John), Steve, Ellen, Greg (Beth); and 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He retired from Whitehurst Paving Company. He served in the United States Navy on the USS LST 969 and the USS LST 316.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 1, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice.

Memorial contributions may be made to a Veteran’s organization or the SPCA.
