RICHMOND — Attorney General Mark Herring’s campaign announced endorsements from 43 Virginia sheriffs recently, including chief law enforcement officers from Prince Edward, Cumberland, Charlotte and Lunenburg.
The sheriffs endorsing Herring represent localities in every corner of the state, according to a press release.
The list of endorsements include Prince Edward County Sheriff Wesley Reed, Cumberland County Sheriff Darrell L. Hodges, Charlotte County Sheriff Thomas D. Jones and Lunenburg County Sheriff Arthur Townsend Jr.
“Building safer and stronger communities has been my top priority as attorney general, and I’m honored to have the support of these outstanding sheriffs who work tirelessly to protect their communities and to keep Virginians and their families safe,” Herring said in the release.
Herring, a Democrat, faces Republican John Adams in a November election.
