Three charged with animal cruelty

BUCKINGHAM — Three men were recently arrested on animal cruelty charges that — according to Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring’s office — are being prosecuted by the attorney general’s animal law unit.

According to the Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office, Tyrone Delaney, 44, of Jetersville, and Robin Bowen, 60, of Crewe, were arrested April 26. Delaney faces seven animal cruelty charges and Bowen faces five. Trent Johnson, 56, of Drakes Branch, was arrested April 25 on three animal cruelty charges, according to the arrest report.

Michael Kelly, director of communications for the attorney general’s office, said at press time there were no further details he could provide.
