Moses wins 100, 200 at regional meet

Prince Edward County High School’s varsity outdoor track and field program brought home two regional championships in individual events Thursday and one in a relay event. Senior Bryan Moses, pictured above in center from earlier this year, won the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 10.90 seconds, and he was also victorious in the boys 200-meter dash, finishing in 22.67 seconds during the Region 2A East Championships at East Rockingham High School. Claiming first in the girls 4×100-meter relay with a time of 50.51 seconds was the Lady Eagles team comprised of sophomore Salma Muhammad, freshman Mia Seay, freshman Makayla Morris and sophomore Jordan Booker, according to MileStat.com. The girls helped the Lady Eagles finish fifth with 48 points out of 21 teams that generated points. The Prince Edward boys team finished fifth with 39 points out of 25 teams to generate points. Eagles and Lady Eagles will participate in the Virginia High School League Group 1A and 2A State Championships on Friday and Saturday at East Rockingham.
