Earnest Williams

Earnest Williams, known to all as Rome, passed away April 21, 2017. He was born in Lunenburg County, to Alice Sims Stokes and Arthur Taylor, who proceeded him in death.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Forest Baptist Church in Meherrin. Later, he moved his membership to the New Bethel Baptist Church where he remained a member until God called him home.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Lizzie Williams; son, Elvis Williams, Sr. (Charitta) of Baltimore, Maryland; daughters, Amy Bolding (Dennis) and Vitrona Williams (Dwayne) of Meherrin; grandsons, Elvis Jr., Larry Jr. (Vikki), Cordaro Sr., and Jasiah; great-grandchildren, Ta’Cora, Chevelle, Asia, Cordaro, Jr., Raheim and Taji; brothers, Horace Stokes (Pauline) and Joseph Stokes of Meherrin; sisters, Dorothy Hurt, and Alice (Polly) Stokes, both of Keysville, Annie Mae Stokes and JoAnn Streat (Calvin) of Meherrin, and Diane Taylor of Baltimore, Maryland; sister-in-law: Lorraine Williams of Meherrin, Claudette Eggleston (Herman Jr.) of Keysville, Julia Walton (Robert), Margaret Graham (Tommie), Annie Morton, and Rebecca White of Baltimore, Maryland; uncle, Martin Williams of Richmond; and his goddaughter Shannon Ridley of Richmond; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held April 26, 2017 at New Bethel Baptist Church Meherrin.

Wilson Funeral Home of Keysville, served the family.
