Fuqua artwork on display at library

Twenty-nine students from Fuqua School have artwork on display at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library through April. “Lesley Stimpert, library volunteer, wanted to feature student artwork when she noticed that a large, 4-foot by 21-foot bulletin board that needed brightening up. Since the bulletin board is in the children’s section of the library, she thought elementary students’ artwork would be a great fit for this space,” Fuqua School officials said in a press release. When asked to supply the artwork, Forrest Layne, Fuqua art teacher, jumped at the opportunity. “I am really happy to have the chance for our students’ work to be spotlighted in a public space,” Forrest said. Students who have work on display include Abby Harris, Charlie Allen, Kyle Redford, Maddy Morris, Allen Blackman, Collins Easter, Ainsley Harris, Mary Reagan Phaup, Elle Franssen, Colin Jamerson, Blair Pembelton, LottieMae Hazlegrove, Caroline Martin, Aubree Anderson, Murphy Witko, Joel Layne, Ashlyn Ligon, Grace Furman, Jake Gibson, Bailee Click, Lexi Peidra, Marissa Dempsey, Kaleb Knott, Hunter Stimpson, Jordan Haytasingh, Hannah Whaley, Olivia Fortune, Heith Taylor and Sam Minix.
