Guthrie Memorial Chapel operates a school in the Mukono District of Uganda. According to a press release, the educational philosophy that guides the school is that a balanced education includes instruction in secular academics, the Bible and Christianity and the value of physical labor. “Each student who is old enough and able-bodied works in the school’s garden, which helps provide food for the students,” church leaders said in a press release.

“In addition to the school, the chapel operates a health clinic which meets the physical needs of locals and teaches principles of healthful living including the value of sunshine, pure water, exercise, the plant-based diet of Genesis 1:29 and maintaining a strong relationship with … Jesus,” leaders said. “One of the major themes taught is that Jesus Christ demonstrated that He is the source of life by rising from the grave, and it is He who will raise his children from the grave at His second coming, on resurrection morning.”

Guthrie Memorial Chapel is located at 2663 Cumberland Road, Farmville. Bible Study is at 10 a.m. and worship is at 11 a.m. each Saturday morning.
