Barbara Ann Gibson Barone, 76, of Cumberland was suddenly called home to her Lord and Saviour on April 7, 2017. She was born January 10, 1941, a daughter of the late Earl Norman and Mattie Leach Gibson.

Barb worked on the cafeteria and custodial staff of the Warren County School District. In her spare time, Barb loved to sew and had her own upholstery business.  She loved gardening and loved helping others.  Barb never met a thrift store she didn’t like. She was a member of Hatcher Baptist Church and she loved her church family.

Barb is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence Anthony Barone Sr.; two children, Lawrence “Larry” A. Barone Jr. and his wife, Lillian and Janice B. Crawley and her husband, Tony; sister, Betty Daniel and brothers, Robert Gibson and James Gibson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service was held on April 11, 2017 at the Dunkum Funeral Home in Dillwyn.
