‘What can we do better?’
Published 10:27 am Tuesday, March 7, 2017
At The Herald, we are always looking for ways to improve and regularly ask ourselves and our readers, “What can we do better?”
In that light, we’ve made a recent change to our website, FarmvilleHerald.com, by adding the community calendar to our home page.
The calendar includes nonprofit events, community fundraisers and events open to the public free of charge. We hope you will agree that it’s useful when planning your week or even an upcoming event.
Is your non-profit group or club having an event and you want to get the word out? Email us at Social@FarmvilleHerald.com. Send us a brief description of the event and be sure to include the date, time and location. Let us know if there is charge to attend and how best to reach you via email, phone or text.
The website still includes all the features you are used to: news, sports, opinion, business, obituaries and more.
Of course, readers also have the opportunity to make and read comments. For those who want to post comments or read them, you have to sign up as a registered user, agree to our terms of use and voluntarily join our forum “family.” If you don’t like the reader forums, don’t sign up. Or, if you’ve signed up and want to “tune out” the comments on a particular story, simply log out and the comments will go away.
While we welcome and encourage open discussion, please use common sense when posting. Just because you can say something doesn’t always mean you should. Keep it civil and to the point please.
We invite you to share with us and let us know what you’d like to see in your community newspaper.
If something works, we want to hear about it, and the same thing goes if it doesn’t work. You can reach me directly via email or by phone at (434) 808-0636.
