tella Lee Bryant, age 87 of Cumberland, passed away on March 11, 2017.

She was born in Patrick County, on January 11, 1930.

She worked at Cumberland High School for 35 years in the cafeteria.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Kernel and Vera Gunnel Gwyn, siblings; Carrie Gwyn, Cassie Key, Arlis and Roger Gwyn.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years Garfield Bryant; daughter, Alma Anderson (Harold); son, Jimmy “Bean” Bryant (Verena); sister Annie Flippen; grandchildren, Philip Sloane (Ginny), Scott Sloane, Amy McCormick (Daniel), Ernie Bryant (Stephanie), Erica Bryant; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a devoted nephew, J.D. Black (Brenda).

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Cumberland.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 15, from 6-8 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.
