Graduating seniors enrolled in Prince Edward County High School (PECHS) are invited to apply for the fifth annual Elias Harold Jones Memorial Scholarship for Leadership and Character.

“Elias was a senior at PECHS when he died suddenly in 2012,” according to a press release. “To honor his memory, his family and friends fund a scholarship for a PECHS student who will continue his or her education in either a two- or four-year college or university.”

The scholarship application packet is available in the guidance office at PECHS. The award is $1,500. Students who have been active in the community and in school are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is April 18.
