Louise Banton Peake

Louise Banton Peake, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on March 21, 2017, in Raleigh, NC. 

Louise was born in Buckingham, VA on July 9, 1932. She was predeceased by her husband, John David Peake Jr., her son, Alden Clark Stanley, her mother, Bertha Banton Jamerson, father, Eugene K. Banton Sr., one sister, Grace King and six  brothers Otis Banton, Beauford Banton, Edgar Banton, Lindberg Banton, Eugene Banton and Thomas Banton. 

She is survived by her baby brother, Jimmy Bruce Banton: her son, Michael Stanley and his wife Kimberly Stanley; her daughter, Dana O’Donnell; and her husband, John O’Donnell. She was the proud grandmother of seven wonderful grandchildren, Channing Holloway, Michael O’Donnell, Andrea Stanley Callahan, Michael Stanley, Jr., Meghan O’Donnell, Sean Blaess and Jason Blaess. She has five great-grandchildren, Ellie and Nick Holloway, Olivia Blaess, Parker Blaess and Faith Renee O’Donnell.

Louise graduated from Buckingham High School but spent the majority of her life in Richmond, Va. She graduated from Smithdeal Massey Business College and worked for American Tobacco where she met the love of her life. She furthered her career and retired from DGSC as a Civil Service Employee. Before her husband’s passing she was fortunate enough to live part of her retired life in Florida soaking up the sun and sand, one of her favorite things to do. The last ten years have been spent in Raleigh, North Carolina. with her daughter and family. She was blessed to have spent the last year of her life rocking and loving the sweetest thing God can grant a grandmother, a great grandchild.   

The family received friends on Saturday, March 25, 2017, 11 a.m.-noon at Bliley’s Staples Mill 8510 Staples Mill Road, where a Celebration of Life was held at noon with interment in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Transitions Lifecare 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
