John Wade Spencer, was born March 16, 1940 and departed this earthly life Sunday, February 26, 2017. John loved life and he lived a full life.

During his life, John worked in the oil fields, delivered newspapers and did various jobs.

Just a few years ago, his son Jeff helped to lead him to Jesus Christ. He lived his life peacefully.

He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Dorothy Spencer.

He leaves to cherish his memories, five sons; Jeff (Ellen), Greg, Dan (Geradline), Kenny (Angel), and Rob (Casey); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Biddle and Jenny Lingle; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held March 2, at Remnant Church, with interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Farmville, Jeff Spencer, pastor.

The V.Y. Scott Funeral Home, Amelia, served the family.
