Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday
Daylight Saving Time will begin Sunday at 2 a.m., meaning that clocks and watches must spring forward an hour Saturday night or Sunday morning early.
New Zealander George Hudson proposed the modern idea of daylight saving in 1895. Germany and Austria-Hungary organized the first nationwide implementation, starting on April 30, 1916. Many countries have used it at various times since then, particularly since the energy crisis of the 1970s.
Daylight Saving Time will end in November.
