Connie Carr Bryant

Connie Carr Bryant, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the age of 54. She was born in Farmville, on March 2, 1963 to Frances Mae Horton Combs and the late Billy Joe Carr, Sr. and was married to Donald Wayne Bryant.

Connie was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She was a former substitute teacher at South Boston Elementary School for eight years and loved all the children she worked with at the school. Her favorite subjects were music and library. She enjoyed flowers & gardening, scrapbooking, reading and most of all raising her 4 daughters.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Wayne Bryant; daughters, Jennifer Ann Bryant, Ashley Kate Bryant, Amber Lynn Bryant, Jessica Nicole Bryant; mother, Frances Mae Combs and husband, Bob; sister, Wanda Faye Bryant and husband, Edward; brother, Thomas Dale Carr and wife, Ethel and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Carr, Sr.; brothers, Billy Joe Carr, Jr. and Robert Ray Carr.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Second Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Reverend Jim Smith and Reverend Vance Midgett officiating. The family will receive friends after the service and at other times at the home 819 Randolph Ave., South Boston.
