Burrell meets Northam in Richmond

Andrew Burrell, an 11th-grade student at Prince Edward County High School, recently had the opportunity to meet Virginia Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam. According to the school division, Burrell attended the Service Employee International Union banquet in Richmond with his mother, Estella Woolridge. Gov. Terry McAuliffe and other dignitaries were also in attendance. According to his mother, Burrell, who has cerebral palsy, had a wonderful time at the banquet and visited the state Capitol afterwards. “Everyone gave him so much attention,” she said. “They put him front and center the whole time we were there.” We recognize Burrell for exploring the Capitol, learning more about his government and for representing Prince Edward County so well. Burrell is the son of the late Glenwood Jackson, of Farmville. Pictured are, from left, Northam, Woolridge and Burrell.
