Betty Lee Cobb Jones, 92, of Charlotte Court House, passed away at her home on February 28, 2017. She was born in Prince Edward on October 29, 1924 to the late Henry A. and Grace Carter Cobb.

She grew up in Charlotte County and graduated from Randolph Henry High School and married “L.M.” Jones. Together they built and ran Jones Oil Co. From the beginning she was instrumental in running the business. They sold the business in the mid 70s due to LM’s health and she spent the next 22 years as a constant and loving caregiver to him. Her favorite past time was antiquing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Henry Archer “H.A.” Cobb, a sister Sadie Cobb Dobbins and her husband Francis.

She is survived by her nephew Hank Dobbins (Debbie) from LaGrange, Ga., many more cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express many thanks for the many special caregivers who took care of her for so many years.

A funeral service was held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Village Presbyterian Church in Charlotte CH, with interment following in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.
