Tree planting symbolizes new beginnings

Fuqua School’s Class of 2023 celebrated its “move up the hill” by planting a tree near the middle school recently. This tree-planting tradition, started six years ago by the Class of 2018, is an important aspect of the transition to life on the middle/upper school campus. Trees symbolize new beginnings and accomplishments, and the sixth-grade trees also have added beauty, shade and remembrance to Fuqua’s campus. Cameron Rhew and the Class of 2023 offer thanks to parent, teacher student association (PTSA) for the beautiful Little Gem Magnolia. Rhew told the class, “Much like these roots support this tree, we are all here to support you developing your boundless individual potential.” Pictured are, from left, front row, Alex Woods, Aaron Orange, Easton Gilley, Grayson Newcomb, Kassidy Knott, Evan Nichols, Jackson Whaley, Caylen Copley, Callie Major, Grace Mau, Haley Short, Eva Gee, Kendall Moore, Chandler Wright, back, PTSA President Lorrie Watson, Lynne Lindsay, Rachel Mason, Briana Gee, Holt Mason, Fuqua Head of Middle School Cameron Rhew, Jordan Ledger, Jacob Strickler, James Royall, Wade Haney, Alan Hearn, Matthew Pembelton and Grace Puckett.
