Potato dinner planned for March 17

The Randolph District Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary thanks all those who supported them at their spaghetti dinner on Friday. They ask that you place on your calendar March 17 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for their potato dinner with all the trimmings.

The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary thanks everyone for their support of the pancake supper on Saturday. Their next activity, the Children’s Consignment Sale, will be on March 31 and April 1.

The Prospect Happy Hats and their guests enjoyed the pancake supper at the Prospect Fire Department on Saturday. Pat Smith was the hostess. Those joining Pat were Hilda Allen, Sue Case, Betty Meadows, Margaret Stockton, Jeannette Tarlton and guests Larry Latham, Don Meadows, Jeff Smith, Richard Stockton and James Tarlton. Hilda Allen and Pat Smith were extra happy as they both won door prizes.

Don Meadows, Mrs. Betty Sumner and Mrs. Janet Conway joined Mr. and Mrs. Donald Meadows for dinner on Sunday at the Meadows’ home in Farmville.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the Faith Bible Fellowship small group covered dish at their home on Monday evening. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock and Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger.

Betty Noblin has returned home following a visit with her son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Noblin and children Brady and Allie, in Chesapeake, from Friday to Sunday.

Douglas Bolt, Betty Jean Bolt, Stacy Bolt and Mrs. Flora Bolt attended the pancake dinner at Prospect on Saturday with Stacy winning one of the door prizes.

The Rev. Buddy Woodson and wife Lois from Scottsville preached at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle on Sunday morning; following the service, the family met at the home of Mrs. Judy Bolt and son, Chris, for lunch. Chris grilled chicken for them to enjoy. Those enjoying the grilled chicken were Mrs. Flora Bolt, Stacy Bolt, Jennifer Page Bolt, Alexa Moser, Buddy and Lois Woodson, Garland Woodson, Jenni Bolt, and sons Joshua and Jacob, Andrew Goss, Steve Bolt, Haley and Payden Murdock, Sharon and granddaughter McKinsey and Brandi.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Betty Meadows, George Moore, Ray George, Gary Fiscus, Jean P. Derrenbacker, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

Gene Brooks, a member of the Farmville Camp of the Gideon’s, will be with the members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle on Sunday. They invite you to worship with them each Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Caitlin Hoy will be at Davis Memorial on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
