FARMVILLE — In response to input from residents regarding truck traffic and speeding on Peery Drive and the running of red lights on South Main Street, police in Farmville have initiated traffic monitoring in the area of concern.
“Motorists are reminded that the speed limit on Perry Drive is 25 mph, and delivery trucks are restricted from Williams Street to Meriwood Farm Road,” police said in the release. “Farmville Police would also like to remind motorists that upon approaching an intersection and observing a yellow light in the distance, it is necessary to immediately prepare to stop, not to try to accelerate through the light.”
Police said they were “committed to ensuring the safety of citizens and visitors alike and ask that you drive safely at all times.”
Residents with traffic safety concerns are encouraged to call the Farmville Police Department at (434) 392-9259.
