A two-car collision Sunday night in Farmville sent one man to the hospital.

“Tyriq L. Welton, of Prospect, has been charged with fail to yield right-of-way,” said Farmville Police Chief Andy Ellington.

The accident took place at the intersection of Clarke and South Main streets at approximately 7:30 p.m., Ellington said.

One vehicle, driven by Welton, was turning left from South Main Street onto Clarke Street when it turned in front of the second vehicle.

“As a result of the impact, vehicle No. 1 overturned,” he said.

Welton was transported to Centra Southside Community Hospital with minor injuries.
