The 2017 Master Gardener Lunch and Learn Program begins March 2 with a presentation by Jeanne Grunert on “Container Gardening for People with Physical Limitations.”
“With a few tools and adjustments, anyone can participate in gardening and enjoy the many benefits of connecting with plants,” officials said in a press release. “The program begins at noon in the conference room of the Prince Edward County Virginia Cooperative Extension Office, Dominion Drive, Farmville. Bring lunch and learn about ways to garden in spite of mobility or strength issues.”
Grunert is the current president of the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners. She is also the “Ask the Expert” columnist for Virginia Gardener magazine, and the author of several gardening books. Her blog, Home Garden Joy (www.homegardenjoy.com) has been named one of the best garden blogs on the web, according to event organizers.
Grunert is a freelance writer and novelist, and lives and works with her husband John on a small farm in Prospect.
Virginia Cooperative Extension programs and employment are open to everyone. Those with special needs who want to participate in this activity should contact the Prince Edward County Office at (434) 392-4246 during business hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. to discuss accommodations five days prior to the event.
