La Bete performance set

Published 1:12 pm Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Written in rhymed couplets of iambic pentameter and set in 17th century France, La Bete is an antic comedy that recounts the arrival of a vulgar street performer, Valere, into an elite company of veteran actors, led by dignified and stuffy Elomire. Two more performances can be seen Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. in Johns Auditorium at Hampden-Sydney College. Arthur White, left, who portrays Valere, stands with Patrick Luwis, who portrays Elomire.
