This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Friends of the Appomattox River and its board met recently to discuss events surrounding this milestone, as well as to plan annual field trips, river clean-ups, community programs and socials. Field trips this year include an April float on the Slate River, which flows through beautiful rock formations and banks lined with spring flowers.
