Several Officers of Election in Buckingham County, who represent over 70 years of service, were recognized during a recent retirement celebration. These men and women have been integral to ensuring a healthy democracy in the county, guiding voters through processes, helping them understand new technology and offering assistance to those with questions before and after voting. We commend these public servants for their dedication to the voters of Buckingham County. Pictured are, from left, Richard Austin, Peggy Moseley, Buckingham County Electoral Board Chairman the Rev. Rick Caldwell, Bob Toney and Ophelia Washington. Not pictured are Marie Sweeney, Christine Thomas, Winnie Brown, John Laury and Sam Jones.
