Area visitations noted

Mark your calendars, as on Feb. 17 the Randolph District Fire Department Auxiliary will be serving spaghetti dinners from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Route 45. Besides the spaghetti dinner, there will be three great raffles, each worth $100 or more. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Come out and enjoy the dinner and the good fellowship. Hope to see you there.

The Prospect Fire Department Auxiliary will have its annual Valentine’s Supper on Feb. 18. They will be serving pancakes and trimmings from 5-7 p.m. The cost is a donation at the door. Come on out and enjoy pancakes and good fellowship.

Mrs. Rosie Lapp stopped in to visit with Mrs. Pat Smith on Friday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith had lunch at Texas de Brazil on Saturday afternoon. They then attended the Third District’s High School Bands Concert at Monacan High School to see their granddaughter, Christina, perform with the Symphony Band.

On Sunday Mr. Jeff Smith and his grandson, Charles, traveled to Stafford to visit Jeff’s mother, Mrs. Dolores Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton traveled to North Chesterfield to visit her sister, Jean P. Derrenbacker, who has returned home after spending about eight months in rehab following a stroke on the Sunday following Mother’s Day.

Hampden-Sydney College’s basketball team continues to please local fans by winning; there are only a few more games in the regular season. Go Tigers.

Jo Smith and Nancy Dickerson met Margaret and Richard Stockton last Thursday for lunch at the Golden Palace.

Mrs. Flora Bolt had lunch with Mrs. Judy Bolt, Chris Bolt and Alexa Moser on Sunday following church services. Sunday evening, Mrs. Judy Bolt had a few friends in to watch the Super Bowl.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Betty Meadows, George Moore, Ray George, Joyce C. Floyd, Gary Fiscus, Jean P. Derrenbacker, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

Richard Boswell, from the First Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, will be with the members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle on Sunday. They invite you to worship with them each Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Caitlin Hoy will be at Davis Memorial on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
