Solutions for intersection sought

I noticed in the online edition of The Herald there was a survey question about a roundabout for the Route 45 and Columbia Road intersection.
Our Ruritan Club discussed at the January meeting taking on the project of trying to get the problem intersection addressed.
A roundabout is one idea that was brought up, but that intersection is not the intersection of concern to Cartersville residents.
The problem intersection is at Route 45, Cartersville Extension and Deep Run.
They all come together with four different directions of travel. Drivers have a very difficult time (always an adventure) in navigating this intersection due to excessive speed, no turn signals being used and poor visibility.
The Cartersville Ruritan Club is taking this as a project to improve this intersection for our community safety. Help and ideas from anyone would be appreciated.
