Seven Piedmont Regional Jail (PRJ) employees recently attended the newly implemented Virginia Association of Regional Jails Leadership Initiative (VARJLI). According to the jail, VARJLI seeks to provide a neutral learning environment and exposure to a leadership curriculum based on 21st century correctional practices and the core competencies for jail leaders. “The intent of this leadership development training is to provide emerging leaders with the opportunity to engage with their peers and to strengthen their leadership capabilities in an atmosphere promoting honest inquiry, challenging beliefs and growth through introspection,” officials said in a press release.
