The Farmville Police Department was among many law enforcement agencies across the area that raised money and volunteered their time to make the Christmas season brighter for the less fortunate in 2016. Through fundraising and donations, police officers across the Heart of Virginia helped families and their children in numerous ways — many of which will remain unknown and confidential. Some, including Operation Blue Christmas, organized by police in Farmville, were a little more noticeable, as children and police took to the aisles of Walmart to purchase gifts for family members. We thank and highly commend those officers and departments who took their time and energy to help those in need.
