Katherine Trudy Walker, 80, of Meherrin, passed away on January 22, 2017. She was born on June 26, 1936 in North Carolina to the late Johnny L. and Arzlea Barker O’Diear. She was married to her husband of 46 ½ years, Nathan W. Walker III. They moved to Farmville in August 1990 where she loved working her garden and mowing her grass, she loved to ride the lawn mower. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and for making the best fried apple pies.

She is survived by her husband, Nathan; her sons, Nathan W. Walker IV (Joann) of TN, and Paul D. Walker (Monica) of MD; daughters, Joyce D. Divver (Danny) of MD, Shirley A. Buckley (Brian) of FL, and Deedee A. Dehaven (Danny) of MD; brother, Robert O’Diear; sisters, Ethel Messer, Louise Stevenson, and Frankie Sutton; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Candy W. Trendafilov, a brother, Lee O’Diear and a sister, Hazel Polson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27 at 10 a.m. at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home in Maryland. Interment will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26 from 1 p.m.–3 p.m. at the funeral home.
