Friends of the Appomattox River (FAR) will hold its annual meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Mill Room, located at One Mill Street (near Charleys) in Farmville. Find out what happened during 2016 and what is coming up in 2017, along with other matters of interest to FAR members and the community.

FAR promotes and maintains the Farmville Blueway (a paddling adventure over Wilck’s Lake, Buffalo Creek and the Appomattox River to Riverside Park), plans floats to explore other waterways, conducts cleanups along the Appomattox and it tributaries, offers programs of interest to the community and provides socials and other special events.
