Edward Clarence Mottley, 92, of Farmville, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Judith; a brother, John and his wife, Nancy; and a granddaughter, Holly Hamlette of Pamplin. He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters and Scott Wallace, his stepson.

Edward worked as a carpenter and served our country in the United States Army.

A memorial service was held Saturday, December 31 in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date.
